Causing an Uproar

My husband and I enjoy the symphony. At the Rite of Spring show recently, I read that the 1913 score Stravinsky composed was revolutionary. This seemed like an odd way to describe the piece, but as I read on I discovered that its premiere actually caused a riot. In the years since, several commentators have referred to that event as the definitive beginning of 20th century music. My guess is that Stravinsky hadn’t intended to cause such an uproar but, in following his passion, he created something unlike anything else.

In the work I do, sometimes an uproar can be a simple recommendation to the client—a suggestion to approach their project in a new way. While my intention may not be to cause a stir, it can certainly happen. I understand that inspiring sessions must be created in a unique manner and must be memorable. This can be scary. It can feel like a risk. And it can cause an uproar.

What are you creating that might cause an uproar?
