Working Agreements
In my last post, I talked about using working agreement to help establish accountability and build a foundation of trust among your team. To construct a viable working agreement, you should consider the following questions:
Communication/Meetings: What are the preferred methods of communication? How frequently will members communicate?
Dealing with Conflict: How are disagreements handled? How are conflicting priorities dealt with?
Decision-making: How are decisions made? How much clarity/research is required to make a decision?
Roles: How is it determined who is responsible for deliverables? What roles do people hold on the team? How will we support one another?
Progress on Deliverables: What are the project goals? What are the deadlines and milestones?
Accountability: How do members hold one another accountable for agreements and deliverables? How will successes be recognized and celebrated?
At EPI, we’ve created a working agreement job aid and template. If you’re interested in receiving a copy, please let me know.
